Jamiroquai’s “(Don't) Give Hate a Chance” Music Video from 2005

"(Don't) Give Hate A Chance" is the third and final single from British funk/acid jazz band Jamiroquai's sixth studio album, Dynamite. The single was released on November 7th, 2005. The video (featured above) is Jamiroquai's first-ever computer animated music video and pays homage to the Italian cartoon “La Linea”.

Production by Partizan UK, with post-production by Machine Molle (“Directed by Alex & Martin”).

I remembered when this came out, I was laughing at the “Buffalo Man” depiction of Jay Kay and his Indian Chief headdress! I was on the peak of my obsession with animation in different aspects of media (film, tv, TVC, MVs etc) and this track was a delight, even though I wasn’t much a fan of Jamiroquai’s music until much later… :)

Although thinking back, I wasn’t too sure if the visuals were as “crisp” / sharp - compared to the current versions, seen even on Vimeo…

Overwatch - Animated Shorts Explained @ BlizzCon 2016

After the debut of their Sombra-ccentric “Infiltration” short at the recent BlizzCon 2016, the animation crew explains how they created the animation for all the Animated Shorts for OVERWATCH, live on stage, in this 55+ minutes video recording.

Although tech-heavy (but not too obscure that I did not just sit thru the entire session listening to haha), the folks offer a pretty detailed walk thru both visually and explanation, and great for folks interested in behind-the-scenes of the shorts and characters we have watched thus far.

Folks interested can also check out the various shorts by clicking on the icons below!

Teaser Trailer for defunct animation project “SABAH”

Sabah” was a short film directed by Luca Vitale and made in collaboration with artists Matt Carter and Vasili Zorin. The above featured teaser trailer from 2014 (full credits here) is the sole result of a project, which has since been mentioned by Luca to be …on hiatus unfortunately, not dead but not so alive either. I will resuscitate it if I can. (commented early 2016).

A real pity, as it looks pretty amazing, flavoured like “Tekkonkinkreet“ by Michael Arias x Studio 4°C, which I adored! Specifically the attention paid to the environment design, and as well the “stylised” depiction of humanoid forms in relation to said environment.

Meanwhile, you can check out Luca’s work via lookahvitale.tumblr.com … and if anyone wants to help him move the project forward can hit him at “vitaleluca@gmail.com”.
